SUSTAINABILITY AND ETHICS

FABRIC COMPOSITION

EDGY JAYD black fabric is 78% recycled nylon and 22% elastane, neon fabrics are 78% recycled polyester and 22% elastane, and the holographic range is 87% recycled polyester and 13% elastane, with a foil print.

RECYCLED FABRIC INFORMATION

Recycled nylon (ECONYL®) is made from nylon extracted from carpets destined for landfill, fishing nets and pre-consumer waste. Every 10,000 tons of ECONYL® raw material saves 70,000 barrels of crude oil and avoid 65,100 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions, that are generated with new nylon production. To read more about ECONYL®, click here: ECONYL®

Recycled polyester is produced from polyester extracted from plastic bottles that would have otherwise have ended up in landfill or in our oceans.

These materials now have a second life to be loved by you! The fabrics have a luxurious feel and very comfortable to wear due to their stretch.

Not only is all of our fabric recycled, but we also use every single piece of it! All offcuts are kept and sorted through. The larger usable pieces are used to make premade items and all smaller pieces are sent to be recycled, meaning there is zero fabric waste!

ELASTIC

ETHICS

All our garments are hand made to order by us, so no waste items go to landfill. Fair wages are involved throughout the manufacture process of our garments.

The elastic used in all of our products is made from soft cotton and natural rubber, meaning that it is plastic free and biodegradable.

PACKAGING

All of our packaging is eco-friendly! Our mailing bags and postal boxes are compostable, our 'EDGY JAYD COLLECTION' stickers are made from recycled paper and are both recyclable and biodegradable! The white tissue paper that we use to loving wrap your orders is biodegradable, and doesn't use dyes so there is less impact on the environment. Any tape used is eco-friendly too, as it is plastic free, made from recycled materials and is both recyclable and biodegradable.

CHARITIES

To achieve carbon neutral status in the first two years of the brand running, we donated to plant trees to offset our carbon footprint and addition, we planted a tree for every order placed! In our third year of running EJ (2024), we decided to make a change from planting trees, to supporting various charities focused on helping to preserve forests and wildlife in the UK. This allows us to support local wildlife and protect green areas closer to home, as well as seeing the difference in person.
